上海展会聚焦绿色技术创新 2026-06-10
From zero-carbon electricity to sustainable housing, cutting-edge green technologies are stepping out of laboratories and into everyday life at the fourth Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Technology, Products, and Achievements Expo.
Running from Wednesday to Friday at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the event features immersive, scenario-based exhibition routes that demonstrate how low-carbon innovations are being seamlessly integrated into dining, housing, transportation, and daily necessities.
A major highlight along the immersive route is the green energy exhibition area, where State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company has unveiled a suite of frontier climate solutions. Stealing the spotlight is a compact, mobile direct air capture device capable of absorbing carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.
Operating like a mechanical tree, the device boasts a carbon-sequestration capacity comparable to a patch of natural woodland. When paired with clean energy sources — such as solar or wind power — it creates a novel operational model of "zero-carbon energy supply and negative-carbon output", providing a fresh decarbonization solution for urban buildings and industrial parks.
"This compact carbon capture equipment is highly flexible and easy to deploy, processing 300 liters of air per hour," a representative from the State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Research Institute said. "The amount of carbon dioxide it captures is equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of 2.5 to 4.2 square meters of deciduous broadleaf forest."
The captured carbon dioxide can be repurposed for secondary industrial use, making the device highly suitable for widespread commercial application in office buildings and industrial parks.
Beyond industrial equipment, the expo highlights a wide array of practical, consumer-facing innovations. As these pioneering low-carbon technologies accelerate toward widespread application, the vision of a green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly lifestyle is steadily becoming a reality for households across the nation.
