近200家上海企业在香港上市,特别行政区推动内地科技企业走向海外   2026-06-30

Nearly 200 Shanghai enterprises were listed in Hong Kong by the end of last year, underscoring the city's growing role as a global platform for the mainland's hard-technology companies seeking international expansion, according to Hong Kong's commerce chief.

"Hong Kong is not only an important gateway for Shanghai to connect with international markets but also a crucial platform for Shanghai enterprises to allocate international capital and expand their global networks," Algernon Yau said. Yau, Hong Kong's secretary for commerce and economic development, made the remarks on June 29 while addressing a sharing session in Shanghai on overseas expansion by innovation and technology companies.

"As a 'super connector' and 'super value creator,' Hong Kong can assist mainland innovative technology enterprises in efficiently connecting with international markets, gathering global capital, and expanding global business opportunities," he added.

Dedicated Task Force Supports Overseas Expansion

Yau said the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region established the Task Force for Supporting Mainland Enterprises in Going Global (GoGlobal Task Force) last year, bringing together cross-departmental resources, including Invest Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, to help mainland companies expand overseas through Hong Kong.

He encouraged mainland enterprises interested in international expansion, particularly high-potential innovation and technology companies, to establish a presence in Hong Kong. The task force has launched an online professional services platform offering eight categories of support, including legal, accounting, finance, marketing, and testing and certification services. It also helps companies identify suitable overseas partners.

Yau added that the task force is preparing overseas study tours to help participating mainland enterprises gain firsthand knowledge of business environments and development opportunities in their target markets.

Industry Welcomes Practical Support

Rong Guoqiang, general manager of Shanghai's Humanoid Robot Innovation Incubator, said the HKSAR government's latest initiative addresses a key challenge facing many technology startups.

He told Yicai that while management teams at innovation and technology companies, especially hard-technology startups, typically possess strong technical expertise, they are often less familiar with international legal systems, taxation, intellectual property protection, talent recruitment, financing, and overseas sales channels.

In Rong's view, Hong Kong's initiative directly addresses the practical needs of mainland companies seeking to expand internationally. "This type of supportive service is very important and provides tangible assistance to these enterprises," he said.

According to the latest data from Invest Hong Kong, the agency has helped more than 410 overseas and mainland companies establish or expand operations in Hong Kong since January. Mainland companies accounted for 60 percent of the total, while over a fifth of the 410-plus firms were innovation and technology enterprises.
