Shanghai will use high-tech methods like facial recognition technology to ensure the safety of local schools and their surroundings in the new semester, the city’s politics and law commission said Friday.
According to the commission, this year the city will further enhance its supervision on key areas including the rental houses, middle and small sized hotels and bed-and-breakfasts near schools and kindergartens.
Authorities will tackle issues local teachers, students and their parents complain about and strengthen the management of school guards to prevent harm to students, especially young children.
