Shanghai Zoo releasing 50,000 butterflies to celebrate the National Day 2022-09-29
From September 28th to October 16th, the "Golden Autumn Butterfly Viewing Season" at Shanghai Zoo will carry out live butterfly releases, showcase display projects and hold interesting butterfly science education and protection activities. The "Golden Autumn Butterfly Season" will display 20 to 30 species totaling nearly 50,000 individual local live butterflies (including chrysalis and larvae), and visitors can enjoy Shanghai's native butterflies in the "Butterfly Garden".
On weekends and during the National Day Holiday, Shanghai Zoo will increase the number of butterflies released to ensure that visitors can watch butterflies flying in the "Butterfly Garden" at all times and in all spaces to achieve the ideal display effect.
During the Golden Autumn Butterfly Viewing Season, Shanghai Zoo will launch a number of educational and entertaining science exhibitions and interactive activities to create multiple visual, olfactory and tactile experiences for visitors.
