Shanghai ceremony to honor exceptional performers 2025-02-13
The Shanghai Magnolia Stage Performance Award is an important cultural brand of the city.
The 33rd Shanghai Magnolia Stage Performance Award will honor outstanding theater performers at a grand awards ceremony at Shanghai Culture Square on February 27.
This year, 40 performers have been nominated in categories including best lead actor, best supporting actor, best new talent in a leading role, and best new talent in a supporting role.
Famous Peking Opera artist Li Bingshu will receive the Special Contribution Award for her achievements in the inheritance and spread of the Mei vocal school.
The Special Contribution Award will go to Peking Opera artist Li Bingshu.
The stars will walk down the red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony. They will also showcase original excerpts from both classic and modern plays on the stage.
Since 1989, the awards have been an important cultural brand of the city.
A total of 867 actors in traditional Chinese opera, musicals, dance dramas and children's dramas have been recognized and awarded.
Generations of theatrical talent have been cultivated and discovered to fuel the development of theater arts in China.
