Following the unveiling of a Taylor Swift wax figure, Madame Tussauds Shanghai kicked off another cultural sensation on July 29, launching wax figures of young actor Ci Sha in dual looks – one wearing traditional Yi ethnic costume and the other portraying his character Xi Meng from the new action movie "The Shadow's Edge."

Rising to fame through the fantasy epic "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms," Ci Sha has brought the Liangshan Yi culture into the spotlight. The wax figure wearing traditional Yi ceremonial attire showcases exquisite craftsmanship in capturing intricate patterns, delicate silver ornaments, and the refined beauty of Yi embroidery.

Meanwhile, the Xi Meng wax figure masterfully embodies the character's essence from "The Shadow's Edge," which is slated for national release on August 16.

The event also recreated the vibrant atmosphere of the Yi Ethnic Torch Festival, immersing attendees in the celebration.

"The accuracy truly amazed me," the actor said. "The figures perfectly captured the character's spirit and the meticulous details of Yi costumes, both vivid and breathtaking."

"The Shadow's Edge" follows a group of young criminal investigators in pursuit of a hostile group led by a mysterious figure codenamed "Shadow."

From August 16 to September 16, Madame Tussauds Shanghai will collaborate with the film studio to launch a pop-up exhibition. Discounts and prize draws will be offered to moviegoers presenting "The Shadow's Edge" tickets from Wanda or Hoyts cinemas in the city.

Visitors can also take photos with the Taylor Swift wax figure. This project marked a historic milestone in Madame Tussauds' 250-year legacy. The Shanghai figure pays tribute to the cultural icon through her classic "Lover" album look. Synchronized with 12 other global releases in cities worldwide, it allows fans to relive timeless moments from the super star's "Eras Tour."
